We believe a meaningful architectural transformation can only work if the individual has an equal say in the creation of his own environment.
So, in this project we simply define a frame: to resurface the ground and to insert a light steel structure in-between the gap of existing building volumes, mediating the compound and enclosing a rectangle void space.
This thin interface touches and articulates its peripheral surroundings in a gentle way. Intend to left generic as it is, it opens to users for discovery. With more activities been incorporated, its hidden and unexpected qualities will gradually appear:
It can be a square, it can be a path;
It can be a structure, it can be a shelter;
It can be a door or a window;
It can be a game rack or a playground;
It frames neighborhood and community;
It frames the future.
